In 2025, after one year of self-employment as “Pete the freelancer” I launched Anchor Animation.
I was working almost exclusively on project-based work (rather than day rates with one agency at a time) and had built a team of creatives to support the business. I felt trading under a brand name was more authentic.
The name Anchor is a reference to the Bible verse Hebrews 6:19 “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
On April 1st 2025 I published the first Instagram post from the Anchor Animation instagram account, meaning April 1st 2026 marks our first anniversary as a company.
Everything in the film is rotoscoped by hand using an iPad and Photoshop. It was then composited in After Effects. No generative AI was used.
We couldn’t have done it without…
